Puma Cuff Pouch, an MP3 Player on Your Wrist

pumacuffpouch.jpgPuma’s come out with a small wrist pouch that’s able to store pretty much any type of small gadget, be it your iPod, your non-iPod or cellphone. The Cuff Pouch is available in two colors, puma red and whisper white.

Far be it from Puma to list how much the pouch costs, but then again, I’ve never seen such an unnavigable, Flash-heavy Web site in all my years.

German Pong Dress is Great for Parties

Show me a young lady who has never wanted to wear a dress with a built-in Pong game and I’ll show you someone who doesn’t enjoy fluffy clouds and rainbows. This little German art project was designed by Max Moswitzer and Margarete Jahrmann and is fairly simple: a series of LEDs line a young lady’s dress that are controlled by what look to be old NES controllers. The LEDs light up in response to the user’s inputs and a game of Pong breaks out. It’s part of a Pong expo, pong.mythos, going on right now in Leipzig. Thankfully, there’s a video of the dress in action, complete with one of those German raves going on in the background.

DIY Car Cup Holder Cellphone Mount

FLI1TA8XQ9EQEC18FG.medium.jpgHere is a quick and handy way to mount almost any cellphone into a car cup holder. All you need is an angle brace, three neoprene washers, a threaded rod, cable ties, one of those cheapy universal cellphone belt clips, a cup holder and plaster of paris. It may seem like a lot, but a majority of these things can be found around the house. Basically you are creating an angled mount for the cellphone and sticking it in a cup filled with plaster of paris. If you are handy enough you could ditch the cup/plaster and use the angled brace to mount it somewhere else in your car. Or you could just get a Bluetooth headset, but who am I to tell you how to use your cell on the move.

DIY MacBook Pro Sleeve Case

macbookdiysleeve.jpgSure, those convenient MacBook sleeves are getting pretty cheap, but then you would be like every other trendy Starbucks sipping, MacBook owner. This is the only true way to make your laptop stand out, and it is by creating a DIY trapper keeper carrying case. Everyone remembers the trapper keeper. It was so cool and trendy. My fondest memories of elementary school was flipping open the flap, hearing the Velcro noise and watching the ladies swoon over me.

This MacBook case surprisingly looks good, even though it is made out of duct-tape and foam. (We all know how ugly duct-tape projects can get.) Twelve steps, easy peasy.

KuroDock, Smallest iPod Dock Ever

kurodock.jpgThere’s no shame in admitting that your iPod dock is a little on the small side. Sure, those bigger docks may pack more features, may be more desirable by some iPod owners, but at the end of the day, they all pretty much accomplish the same task: charging up your iPod while allowing it to transfer music to your computer. Enter the Kuro Dock, which claims to be the world’s smallest dock.

Designed for the iPod nano, the KuroDock weighs only 2.5 ounces and measures 1.8 x 2.1 x 0.6 inches. Naturally, it’s USB 2.0 compatible and the LED on the front goes from white to red when active, returning to white to let you know that’s it’s safe to disconnect the dock. See, small and helpful. Nothing wrong with that.

Finally, in case you want to connect the nano to an external set of speakers, the KuroDock also has a line-out jack. It’s available now in black for $29 and will be available in white very soon. Unless, of course, you’re an iPod dock size queen or something.
