Water Bottle Rocket

First you take a 2 liter pop bottle, then you take a cork (Value Home center) and put a basketball pin right through the middle of the cork. make sure the cork is big enough so that not a drop of water can leak out. Next you connect the pin to the airpump, and fillthe bottle 2/3 with water and stick the cork allthe way until it reaches the bottom of the neck of the bottle. you can add fins to stand it up or have someone who is willing to get wet hold it. Turn the bottle upside down and begin to pump and after 10 or more pumps the bottle should launch. Try different size bottles with different corks. ( the smaller bottles go higher){{{

Create waterfall feature in your backyard

Do you have a corner in your backyard that needs a bit of sprucing up? Perhaps this might be the project for you, Rather than spend your allowance on a packaged waterfall from Home Depot that will run you in the $200-$300 mark if you buy it in the middle of summer, you might opt for something a little more unique that will cost yes less than half of the retail price. Some of the materials we used include railway ties to build a short wall, landscape ties to close off the waterfall area, one inch river rock, pea gravel, plastic sheeting, a water pump, a few 5 gallon pails and assorted rocks from a local landscaping firm. Have a gander at what we did and if you have suggestions or make one yourself, please send me a copy.

Vacuum to Wet-Vac

I came up with this when I was house sitting for my parents and the basement started to flood. The original was made with a 5 gallon bucket. I have made two since and found that culligan style water jugs work better. I don’t have one currently constructed, I am bored at work and piece this together with MS Paint. hehehe. But you should get the basic idea. This is my first Instructable, I’ve been reading instructables everyday, and I’ve been dying to post something. Hope this helps some of you out.

I use this same concept to piggy back 3 shop vacs together to get more suction once. My boss brought his boat out of the water this year with-out pumping out the septic tank. Of course we didn’t want to ruin a shop-vac bu pumping sh** into it, and we were told that one shop vac didn’t have enough pull. It worked great unfortunately we didn’t get any pictures. Happy Sucking!!

Table Fountain

My pet fountain finally died and I didn’t want to pay at least $30 for a new one, so I figured out how to do it myself.

Total cost= $16

Since it’s my cat who loves the running water, and she spends much of her time on or near my computer desk, I decided to make a table fountain that she and I could both enjoy.

Spooky Glowing Water….

Looking for a new way to spook your trick or treaters? Maybe you have a haunted house that needs some added effects. Whatever your reason is, this is one way to creep people out.

I did this by accident when I was younger. I was playing with my blacklight and some highlighters (writing out secret messages and what not) and the marker I was using was starting to dry up. I usually just wet my fingers and use them to wet the tip, but someone had left a small glass of water on the table so I instead dipped it into there (kind of reminds you of a feather and inkwell). After a while the marker would start to go dry again, so dipped it again….and again. I decided to let the marker soak up some of the water in hopes that it would last a little longer so I placed it in the glass and switched over to another colored marker. After about 5 or so minutes, I looked up and saw the water "glowing" a little. I placed my light closer and it started to really glow. That’s when I discovered that highlighters make really cool effects when used in water.

Here’s what you’ll need:

1. Highlighter marker

2. Glass of warm water

3. Blacklight

4. Scissors

Acid Bomb

Alright, i have not tried this yet, and it is compleatly hypothetical at this point. Ive learned, over the many years in school, that if your going to mix an acid and Water, you gotta pour the acid into the water, but if you pour the water into the Acid, you get a huge explosion.

So here is my idea, you know those little soda bottle tornado toys, (see picture) well slightly follow that idea, make some modifications of some kinda pull string valve, or an motorized valve, if your willing to lose a motor (but your not going to try this, because this is for educational purposes only right ?) and make a valve, that can be activated from a far distance

basically put water on the bottom, and put acid in the top, i guess one acid you can use is clorine.

please do not try this unless you are very mature to understand the seriousness of a reaction like this, please put a Very good distance between you and the bottle, and do NOT do it near your house, lot or like that, since this is untested, either go to a very very big field, (vacant) and test it, or wait until someone else on instructables does this and reports how far away shrapnel and shock waves traveled

Also, if you choose to do the pull string for a valve opener, your going to need a sturdy base to hold up the contraption when you tug
