If you’re like me, a plain white mug is an eyesore in your kitchen. Feeling the need to spice up the plain white mugs in my cupboard, I decided to try something new out. This DIY project is super simple and requires little time and supplies. If you are looking for a simple way to improve the look of your boring mugs, keep reading.

Supplies Needed

  • Container with warm water
  • Nail polish
  • Porcelain mug
  • Paper towels

Step 1. Fill container with warm water

Pretty much any container will do for this project. I used some Tupperware that I had in my cupboard and filled it about 3/4 of the way full with warm water.

Step 2. Pour the nail polish into the water

I decided to use two different colors of nail polish for this project. You can use as many or as few as you’d like and any color works. Pour the nail polish until it disperses in the water. You can also use a toothpick to swirl the nail polish or make designs.

Step 3. Dip the mug into the water, hold, and allow to dry

Take your mug by the handle and slowly dip it into the water. Hold the mug in the water for about 5 seconds to allow the nail polish to adhere to the mug. After 5 seconds, take out the marbled mug and allow it to dry on the paper towel for about an hour.
