DIY Photo Ornament

With Christmas right around the corner, my inner DIY craftiness is at an all time high. This year, I thought it would be really cool to make an ornament with a photo inside of it. I chose to use a photo of one of my kids, because who doesn’t love a picture of a cute kid, right? This project is super simple, so let’s just jump right in.

Supplies Needed

  • Photo of your choice
  • Scissors
  • Ribbon
  • Paint pen
  • Clear craft ornament

Step 1. Fill the ornament with ribbon

I chose to use a nice silver edged ribbon for this project. Open the top of the ornament, and take the ribbon and stuff it inside of your ornament. This will help keep the picture in place.

Step 2. Cut the photo down to size

Depending on the size of your clear ornament, your picture may need to be cut down to fit inside of the ornament. Cut the photo to the proper size using your scissors.

Step 3. Place the photo in the ornament

Roll the photo up and put it inside of the ornament. Once the photo is inside of the ornament, open the photo up with either your fingers or scissors.

Step 4. Write on the back of the ornament

Take your painters pen and write on the back of the ornament. You can write whatever you’d like. I chose to write “Charlie’s First Christmas.”

I have lots of other great Christmas crafts, so stay tuned!
